Creating Investor Defined Bar Patterns

One of Investigator’s unique features is its graphical editor for defining bar patterns. Bar patterns can have up to 999 bars in them. Bar patterns are typically used as an entry condition of a system. If you want to use a bar pattern as an exit condition, we strongly recommend first testing the bar pattern as an entry condition to see how often the pattern occurs. In most cases, the pattern will not occur frequently enough to be an exit condition, so very few patterns will be found.

To start the investor defined bar pattern editor, select Create New Bar Pattern from the Systems menu.
